Cult Update

We received advance copies for Cult of the Deep last week and after combing through the game we found some errors. These were significant enough we felt that it warranted a fix:

#1) The rulebook was printed matte on a paper stock that was inferior to what was desired. The manufacturer is fixing this and reprinting all of the rulebooks on the proper paper with a gloss finish. Part of this was making sure the rulebook is a quality component that will stand the test of use and re-use. Also, the matte finish and paper was causing the colors and text to be less defined making some things a little indistinct or even blurry.

#2) The playmats were printed using an older file and didn't have the corrections we had done for color and design finish. Those will have to be reprinted with the new updated file.

The Positive

The manufacturer has been fantastic at working through these issues and having an incredibly quick turnaround at resolving them. 

The game itself looks fantastic. The cards, the boards, the tokens, and the insert are all great quality work.

What does this mean?

The game boxes and all of the components are printed and ready to go, except: the rulebook and the playmats. The rulebooks are being printed as we speak and will be done soon. The playmats will unfortunately take 4-5 weeks to print. We were fortunately able to get the process started last week but it will push back our dates to the following:

Game being loaded into containers and starting its journey to the various continents - December 28th, 2021

Arrival at various ports in order to be distributed - April 6, 2022

Going through customs, unloading, and arriving at distribution and fulfillment centers - May 11, 2022

Fulfillment and distribution start - May 18, 2022

Locking in Your Address

In December we will be locking in mailing addresses in order to make sure the correct number of games are sent to the various parts of the world. So, please go into the Pledge Manager and make sure your address is correct.

Hello fellow cultists!

Today we wanted to share with you some images of Cult of the Deep in production! 

 It is exciting to finally see this thing come to full production! 

Timelines

We were doing very well on keeping within our timeline. Our plan was to try and deliver the game before the end of the year. This is however not going to happen. With the production lag in China, the increase in shipping times due to crowding and bottle necks (like in the Los Angeles port for example), has lead us unable to get the game to you by the end of the year.

So it is with a heavy heart, we have to officially change our timeline to the following:

Game being loaded into containers and starting its journey to the various continents - December 2nd, 2021

Arrival at various ports in order to be distributed - March 2, 2022

Going through customs, unloading, and arriving at distribution and fulfillment centers - April 4, 2022

Fulfillment and distribution start - April 12, 2022

We are grateful for your support and for your patience. As a backer of a number of Kickstarters, it is painful to write this update. It is not what I wanted to see happen. Unfortunately, the world of shipping and manufacturing is a crazy place right now and it's only getting worse the closer we get to the Christmas holiday. Now things may clear up the closer we get to the end of the year but we will keep you updated.

Air Shipping?

We have looked at shipping Cult of the Deep through the air. Now, as a solution to shipping Cult of the Deep as a whole, we can't do it. The shipping of a single game of Cult of the Deep at bulk pricing is in the vicinity of $150 + taxes based on the destination country. Not going to work sadly for the game as a whole.

Now, we have had a couple of people inquire about doing this for their individual game. If you are interested, please contact us directly through Kickstarter or [email protected] and we can get you a rundown of the cost and what to expect. If going by air, you will get your game much sooner than if you have it shipped by boat. Note though that you will need to pay for the shipping of the game.

Manufacturing is in Full Swing

Manufacturing

Hello fellow cultists!

Manufacturing of Cult of the Deep is in full swing! Which means in hopefully a few weeks the manufacturing of the game will be completely done. We will then pack those boxes and get them ready for shipping.

Shipping

We are currently coordinating with our fulfillment partners to make sure they are ready when the game is finished and packed to be able to get those games to the port. Shipping is in a crazy place right now with ports backed up, driver shortages, etc. but we will do our very best to keep you in the loop and knowing where your games are in the system.

Heading to Gencon 2021, Games Scheduled For Gencon Online

We embark for Gencon in the morning but just wanted to hit you with a quick update. 

We will be running a few games of Cult of the Deep at Gencon Online.

Production Update

Hello Fellow Cultists!

To give an update on production, we have approved most of the items for Cult of the Deep. This has allowed some of the components to go ahead and start production! This would include the Acrylic Tokens, Metal Coins, and the Dice.

It's been incredible to go through this process and just want to remind you that this was not possible without you. Thank you again from the B.A. Games team.

 Price Update For New Pre-Orders

This price update will NOT affect any backers or pre-orders of Cult of the Deep made before Monday, September 13th. 

With the costs rising drastically for materials and product, we will need to raise the price of the base game for Cult of the Deep from $35.00 to $40.00 USD. This will take place Monday, September 13th. Nothing else will change price wise.

Just to re-iterate, if you have already backed or pre-ordered with us, your games are NOT going up in price. We take our responsibility with backers very seriously so this will not affect you. This price increase  will only apply to those orders made after Monday, September 13th.

If you have any friends, relatives, acquaintances, or just another board game person you met on social media, let them know it's a good time to pre-order Cult of the Deep!

Limited Quantities

It's been amazing to see people deck out their game of Cult of the Deep with the add-ons we are providing. The weight and feel of the coins and the large acyrlic tokens really helps to take your game experience to the next level. However, due to their popularity and the need to start production as soon as possible, we have only limited quantities left of some of the add-ons.

Gencon 2021

We will be in the exhibitor hall at Gencon 2021! We got our shirts, banners, pre-production games, and even custom masks! The hype is real and if you are going to be there, please feel free to come by to chat, see the game in person, or even just to use our hand sanitizer. We will be at booth #2513 in Hall F, right next to Warhammer.
